Junior Vice Presidents Report – Nov 2015

Hillside Football Club
Junior Vice-President Update – November 2015

Hello All,

Firstly let me say how honoured I am to have been appointed as the Junior Vice-President of the mighty Hillside Football Club.

My name is Michael Grech & I have been a part of the Football Club since 2008 in various roles. Some of them include, Auskick Assistant, Waterboy, Junior Coach & Assistant Coach, General Committee Member, the clubs advisor to the EDFL, the founder of the Kicks’n’Marks Summer program for the club and kids in the local area to enjoy. For those of you who do not know me I have three sons and they are all Sharks. My eldest in playing Under 16’s in season 2016 and I have twin boys that are going up into Under 14’s. They as well as all the junior players are the reason I step up and contribute to the club each and every year.

I intend to and will continue to work with ensuring the development and care for all our junior players & their families at the club. We have so many talented players on the field and kids that love to play footy but more importantly we have good kids that show and continue to learn respect for others within the club environment.

Believe it or not planning is well under way for the 2016 season ahead.

As I’m sure you are aware our first major undertaking was to select a strong coaching panel to help assess and select our coaches for season 2016. This has been a new process this season with the introduction of feedback/score card system for all applicants to help us make balanced and informed decisions. We have sat down in the previous few weeks conducted the coaching interviews for all the coaching candidates and as you will already be able to see via the clubs Facebook, Website, Instagram and the Team App we have made our appointments to those candidates who we as a panel believed were best suited to represent our club and it’s players going forward in season 2016. Congratulations and thankyou to all involved.

So, can I suggest you log in and check them out, wish them luck and if able put your hand up for any of the vacant positions.

We have many new ideas moving forward for the 2016 season and we will be seeking input/feedback from all our junior players and parents.
Some include: – Parents forum – interactive feedback
All junior end of season functions to be held at club
Club nights for junior teams

Kicks’n’Marks will be continuing in 2015 for its 3rd year and will be held @ Copperfield College, Community Hub Sydenham now due to a scheduling conflict with the council our original plans have changed. The program is FREE of charge this year and the club will be providing a BBQ for the kids at the conclusion of the 6 week program for all participants and their families.

So with all of this in mind I look forward to season 2016 and all that it brings on and off the field. As always, if you have any questions please let me know.

Best Regards,

Michael Grech,
Junior Vice-President,
Hillside Football Club.
